A gift

When a local family hired me for a birthday party, I drew everyone there with about half an hour to spare. Since they had already paid, I made this drawing of the birthday girl for them to make up for the extra minutes.

Bloomingdales Corporate Event, AMFAR fundraiser, SF 9-27-09

After seeing my work for Red Truck wines, Bloomingdales hired me to paint a background and come in and draw for their new fashion line. They are donating 75k to AMFAR for AIDs research, and premiering a new Black and White fashion line. I painted the background in about a quarter of the time it would usually take, using my new cintiq!

Here are some pics of the event, which was a lot of fun. They are having me back for the 29th of August as well.

San Jose Wedding Party

Tiffany hired me for her pre-wedding wedding party in San Jose. The party was great, and she sent this wonderful review to Yelp the next day:

So I had this wild idea a week before our Hawaiian Wedding Celebration (before the real thing in a month) to get an artist to sketch our guests. Given Jon's great Yelp reviews which hold alot of weight with me, I figured he seemed like the real deal. Now I have to be honest, my soon-to-be-hubby wasn't sure of the idea. I booked Jon anyway. He responded the same day with estimates and ideas for a custom sketch with the Hawaiian event theme.
Jon was more than we could have ever asked for. His work is INCREDIBLE. He stole the show and people were lined up 4 deep. We finally had to pull him away for a break. We had so many takers we begged him to stay another half hour. Even after Jon left people kept looking at their sketches and talking about his work. His personality fits any crowd and quite charming with guests. I would do it all over again and will know what to expect as far as him being in such demand. Soon-to-be-hubby is still talking about eating his words as this was the best idea ever!

Jon Casey Caricatures

Seriously, all my life I've always wanted a cartoon character of myself done but never had one done. I've drawn myself a few times in caricature form but it was never the same... I was at a friends party this weekend and what do you know... they had a Caricature Artist doing sketches at the Party! I had to have fun with my pose and didn't want to ruin this opportunity. The artist, Jon Casey obliged with a very amusing illustration of yours truly. I was very delighted and appreciated of his work.
