12-10-09 Genentech hires Bay Area Caricature artist Jon Casey!

Genentech's Holiday party was a full on event thrown by Inspire Productions. I worked with an up and coming caricaturist Jeanette Madden. It was interesting to talk to people who spend their working hours combating Alzheimer's and looking for the cure for cancer.

12-4-09 Silicon Laboratories Hires Bay Area Caricature Artist Jon Casey!

Lots of fun drawings at this party! I was asked to stay an extra hour because no one wanted to leave without a sketch. This was one of those fun parties where everyone laughed and joked each other during and after the sketches.

10-29-09 Bloomingdales Hires Bay Area Caricature Artist Jon Casey

These girls were on a study abroad trip in America, and SF was their favorite city they visited. I added a little GG Bridge to remind them, as this was their last day in America before returning to Berlin.

This is actually my friend's girlfriend, who happened to be at Bloomingdales this day. She has the coolest style and was a lot of fun to draw!

10-28-09 Intel Hires Bay Area Caricature Artist Jon Casey for the Halloween/Holiday bash!

The Cat here also runs Philanthro Productions, and had contacted me about the Make A Wish job a few weeks back. Her day Job is Intel, and she had no clue I would be there. The Bay Area gets smaller and smaller the more often I draw!
Jodi Carr, a multi talented lady I work with often, was also drawing caricatures there just after returning from a body painting expo in China!

Thanks to Angie Duncan for setting this up, I hope to see them again next year!

Bloomingdales Corporate Event, AMFAR fundraiser, SF 9-27-09

After seeing my work for Red Truck wines, Bloomingdales hired me to paint a background and come in and draw for their new fashion line. They are donating 75k to AMFAR for AIDs research, and premiering a new Black and White fashion line. I painted the background in about a quarter of the time it would usually take, using my new cintiq!

Here are some pics of the event, which was a lot of fun. They are having me back for the 29th of August as well.

8-15-09 Part One, Corporate Function in Fremont

Fremont Party

Worked this corporate event for MetRX, with the great face painter Catherine Grillos. (That lady does it all, from face paint, to character acting, even singing telegrams!) Thanks again to Bay City Events.

8-9-09 Corporate Event for Virgin America

Worked Virgin America's Birthday party with Jodi Carr and Doug Shannon. Jodi and I were very busy, and Doug's expertly done Digital Caricatures were a real crowd pleaser! Thanks to the team of Howard and Manny over at Bay City Events for the job!

7-31-09 Waterfront container co. San Francisco

This was a surprise! I contacted this company this morning, and a couple hours later I drew all 28 members of the office in full color with mats. 5 of the employees were off, but they managed to find photos from various office parties, so no one was left out.

If you have a company or office crew and think you would like to have me come and draw, I have discounted rates for weekdays during office hours!

Red Truck Wine at Servinos! 7-29-09

This was a really special event for me. Red Truck wines flew in their team from all across the country. They spent a day playing in the city, ending at Servino's Restaurant in Tiburon.
I was contacted a few weeks beforehand, and digitally painted a background for each of the drawings...

For fun, I digitally painted in one of them as an example:

Then each of them had their own turn getting one:

The artist at work:

This job gave me the opportunity to step beyond simple, quick caricatures. There is no end to the amount of creativity that can be employed to make an event more special and unique.

As I was leaving, the owner's of the Restaurant Servino's in Tiburon had me draw them as well :

I got this e-mail the next day:

Hi Jon,
Thank you so much.  The caricatures were one of the highlights of the week...everyone was talking about them today!
I know you didn't quite make it through the group but we were all impressed that you did so many and of such great quality in so little time. AND you managed to capture the personalities of the group on paper.  Amazing!
It was a real pleasure working with you,
  Becky

7-19-09 Birthday Party in SF

Three hours of non stop drawing at the Canton Restaurant.

7-18-09 Part One, Menlo Park outdoor party!

The beginning of a BUSY Saturday! This job had perks, there was a crepes by Antoine Kaufman, an espresso bar, and the very talented Jodi Carr was there doing face painting. I heard over and over from people waiting for a drawing that they had never seen Face Painting done that well before.  The caricatures were a hit as well, I was asked to stay an extra hour to get in the line of kids.
