9-27-09 Family and Friends Party in Los Gatos
A Bay Area Couple threw a Summer Party for their friends, and had me come and draw. I was originally asked to come for an hour and a half, but ended up staying more than three hours drawing to fit in each person.
9-26-09 Part Two, Make a Wish Benefit for Philanthro Productions at Suede in San Francisco
I was contacted by Philanthro Productions for the Bay Area Chapter of the Make a Wish foundation to donate my services for a fundraiser party last Saturday. I am lucky that I love my job so much it never feels like work, and so I was happy to support such a great organization!
The paper was prepared with an egyptian theme, which was the destination wish they hoped to fulfill for one of the children that the night was supporting. I drew a lot of young professionals and had a great time. Gladys Dulay, the chief operating officer, wrote me this email the next day :
We were very please with all the caricatures that were drawn through out the night! Also, thank you for working with us to create a custom paper design with logos, so that our patrons would remember that they contributed to a great cause. We will most definitely contact you again for another Philanthro Productions charity event in the future!

9-26-09 40th Birthday Party in Los Gatos
I showed up at Tapestry restaurant in Los Gatos for Sheree's 40th Birthday Party and immediately started sketching her friends, to fit all 15 people on a large drawing. As soon as that was done, I drew the couples together and matted the drawings for them to have a take away gift.
While I was very busy working quickly to get in as many of her friends as possible, other patrons from the restaurant kept approaching me to draw them as well! Unfortunately, I had to leave and rushed back to San Francisco for a Make a Wish Benefit night.
Everyone at the party thought it was a great idea, and the next day I got a call from Sheree thanking me and telling me what a great addition I was to her party. I think I will be drawing for her and her friends in the future, and look forward to it!

9-21-09 Kristina Marie's Birthday at the Holiday Inn, San Francisco
Kristina Marie contacted me last minute for her Birthday party at the Hilton in San Francisco on the 21st. There was magic by Ryan Horsfall, and Mike Shumyater was there to photograph the fun. (MichaelShumyater@yahoo.com)
Being a caricature artist is not a way to get rich, but there are real rewards when you draw people and their faces light up. The caricatures were so popular that I ended up staying over time! I really enjoyed this event, and the next day I received a wonderful e-mail from Kristina Marie:
Well to be honest I am speech less- you were awesome!
you were right about people wanting you to stay pass the hour-
I had my sister in law nag, nag, nag, me to request if you can stay an extra 30 min-
Everyone here at the house is showing off their sketch especially me..
I LOVE IT! Even my friends from the Church are planning to hire you
for their annual charity event. Thank you so much for making my
Birthday Memorable!!!
Have a Blessed Day

9-20-09 Birthday Party in Pacifica
The Baby Birthday Girl, Mom and Dad. They all took off to Hawaii the next day, so I was forced to take home piles of delicious BBQ food that was left over... thanks !
This kid was a lot of fun to draw, he kept the same face and was really still the whole time. He refused to smile while I was drawing him, but couldn't hold it back once he saw the drawing and his spongebob shirt!
This was my second event for this group of friends and family. I saw a lot of familiar faces! I love getting to know people around the area that I would have never met under other circumstances. Everyone loved the drawings, and this morning I got a call from one of the families there to come and draw at another party coming up.

9-19-09 Event Number Two, Wedding in San Jose
I went straight from the Corporate Party in Coyote Point park to San Jose, for Duy Tran's wedding. There were hundreds of people there, and my sketches increased in speed as the line got longer. At one point I drew 4 people in 3 minutes! I got in as many people as I could, but this was a party where two artists would have worked better. Although there was no way possible to get everyone in, I got some great sketches and a lot of compliments.

Many thanks to Jud Yaski at Inspire My Event for this corporate gig at Coyote Point Park.

Jake's First Birthday 9-13-09 in Concord
"Frog prince" themed party, full of babies and family. I was asked to stay extra to get in a few more people, and got an email the next day from them asking for a couple more!
9-12-09 Mack's Bar Mitzvah at Fremont Hills Country Club
This Bar Mitzvah was a lot of fun! I was asked ahead of time to paint a background to match the theme, which was Black Moor Goldfish. (They had vases with flowers and real goldfish swimming around on each table.)
The DJ was really energetic and kept all of the kids and adults really involved with each other and entertained through all kinds of different games and dancing. The caricatures were a lot of fun and I had a line the whole time.Mack's Friends...
I got in some of the adults as well!
Thanks to Zach Trenholm, another amazing caricaturist, for referring me! He was already booked for a Mitzvah himself that evening.
9-12-09 1st Birthday in Burlingame California

Bat mitzvah 9-5-09 San Rafael
Susan Adler, a Bay Area Photographer, must know her stuff because she put together a great Bat Mitzvah for her daughter in San Rafael. The DJ was great, the kids had a blast, and the caricatures were a hit!
